School of Nursing hosting open house on Feb. 11
The St. Joseph School of Nursing will host an open house on Wednesday, February 11 from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. for students considering enrollment in the fall of 2015. Attendees can meet faculty and students while learning about the program and financial aid. The open house takes place in Marian Hall on the Fatima campus. Registration is available but not necessary.
Graduates of the program are eligible to take the national licensing examination for registered nurses. The St. Joseph School of Nursing and Salve Regina University have recently developed an educational partnership that allows eligible graduates to earn their bachelor of science degree in nursing by attending a fourth year of coursework at Salve. Academic preparation is derived from courses taken at the School of Nursing and affiliating colleges.
The St. Joseph School of Nursing is approved by the Rhode Board of Nurse Registration and Nursing Education and accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing. The school offers tuition reimbursement, plus additional incentives for graduates who choose to embark on their career at Fatima Hospital or an affiliated facility. St. Joseph is the only nursing program in Rhode Island to achieve a 100% pass rate on the national nursing licensing exam known as NYCLEX-RN (National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses).
