(January 27, 2010 - North Providence, RI) --
David Becker, MS, RN, CNE, has been named the Director of
the
St. Joseph School of Nursing. He was most recently the Dean

He is a reviewer for the American Journal of Nursing and serves
on the Hartford Foundation Geriatric Nursing Education National
Review Panel. He is a member of the National League for Nursing
and Sigma Theta Tau, National Nursing Honorary Society.
"David brings a wealth of knowledge, experience, and talent
to the School of Nursing," said John M. Fogarty, President
and CEO of St. Joseph Health Services of Rhode Island. "We
look forward to his leadership as we continue to educate and train
nurses whose services are vitally important to the community."
This new position marks a return to Rhode Island for Becker whose
first nursing assignment was at the Naval Station in Newport.
It also brings Becker full circle as he is a graduate of a three
year hospital-based nursing school.
St. Joseph School of Nursing is the only hospital-based nursing
school in Rhode Island. Established in 1899, the school offers
a three-year program leading to a diploma in nursing. It is located
on the campus of Our Lady of Fatima Hospital in North Providence,
Rhode Island.
